Host Jimmy Kimmel said, ‘This year, instead of a red carpet, there will be a champagne colored carpet. This proves how confident we are that there will be no bloodshed this year.’ Kimmel made the sarcastic comment in reference to the controversial beating at the Oscars last year.

The much-controversial brawl took place on the Oscars stage last year. Will Smith slapped host Chris Rock after he made fun of wife Jada Pinkett Smith’s hair. This year’s organizer made a joke about that topic and said that the red carpet is not there this time. This time Oscar does not want any red color or controversial case.

Forgoing the red carpet this year for a light-colored carpet was suggested by Lisa Love, an Oscar consultant and contributor to Vogue magazine, and Raul Avila, creative director of the New York Met Gala. Entrepreneurs believe that champagne color will give some comfort to the eyes compared to red color.
