Neeta Mehta is a once popular actress of Bollywood. He spent almost two decades in this world. Acted in more than 40 movies. He was seen working in hit films with actors like Vinod Khanna, Sanjeev Kumar. At present she lives the life of a nun.

The actress was born in a Gujarati family in Mumbai. Father was a lawyer, mother a doctor. Parents wanted their daughter to study and make a career. But Neeta’s mind was towards acting since childhood. Nita was not interested in studying even though she studied. He was looking for a college after crossing the school barrier. Suddenly one day he saw an advertisement of Film Television Institute of India (FTII) in the newspaper. He decided to enroll there.

But Neeta’s parents did not allow her to study acting. He went against the house and filled the FTII admission form. FTII used to give admission to only four to five students out of 20 thousand students. Nita had given up hope. He could not have thought that he would get the chance to get admission among so many people.

Finally, Nita’s dream came true. After getting admission in FTII, he became familiar with the big stars of Bollywood. He also started modeling. While in college, Neeta got the opportunity to work in various Hindi films like ‘Ponga Pandit’, ‘Yeh Hai Zindagi’. But the 1978 film ‘May Tulsi Tere Angan Ki’ became a milestone in his life. Directed by Raj Khosla, Neeta starred alongside stars like Vinod Khanna and Asha Parekh. His performance in this film made a place in the mind of the audience.

After that, Nita did not have to look back. He continued to act in hit films one after another in the eighties. However, the audience liked her pairing on screen with Sanjeev Kumar more. Through work, Neeta befriends Sanjeev. Whispered in Balipara, Neeta and Sanjeev were also in a relationship. Neeta also wanted to marry the actor. He even proposed marriage to Sanjeev. But Sanjeev had set a condition for marriage. He told Nita that if she married him, Nita would have to sever all ties with the acting world. He will get married only if he can withdraw from acting.

Neeta was not willing to sacrifice her career to get love. So even though he loved Sanjeev, he moved away from him. When the matter became known in the industry, Neeta started getting less work.

Neeta acted with Sanjeev in films like ‘Jani Dushman’, ‘Pathhar Se Takkar’, ‘Hero’. Sanjeev thought that Neeta, like other women, may have wanted to marry him because of his success and prestige. So when Neeta told him that she wanted to continue working even after marriage, Sanjeev turned down the offer.

Neeta, who used to get offers for leading roles in the eighties, later started getting offers for older roles. After working in that kind of role, no one wanted to give Nita a chance to work.

After Bollywood heroines like Sridevi and Jayaprada come along, Neeta realizes that her days in the industry are over. So he withdrew from acting. After leaving Sanjeev, she did not marry anyone else. After that Neeta opened a jewelry store in Mumbai. But after quitting acting, he could not focus on business for a long time. So he closed the shop and concentrated on religion.

Since childhood, Neeta used to watch her mother go to Maa Anandamoyi’s ashram. He also started traveling to that ashram. He also wrote a book dedicated to Anandamoyi. Currently, he has opened his own channel on YouTube and posted various types of videos there. After moving away from Bollywood, she is now a nun.
