Remembering the sad memories of Sunday’s (March 5) explosion, he said, ‘Suddenly loud noise. After a while I saw dust flying. Going towards the street, I saw three people with blood on the street. ‘

Chalim Mia said, when the panic is over, everyone around will send the injured to the hospital. The three who fell from the third floor appeared to have died on the spot. All of them were working in New Generation Company Limited.

Shafiquzzaman, Abdul Mannan and Tushar lost their lives in this accident.

Akram Hossain, the owner of New Generation Company Limited, said that despite receiving several complaints, the owner of the market did not improve the dangerous conditions or renovate the old structure of the building.

He also said that the building is 38 years old. The old, dilapidated structure made it dangerous to stay there.

“I have complained about this several times over the last three years. I even tried to move out in 2021, but I stayed because the building was promised to be renovated. ‘

Akram said the original owner of the market lives in the United States. His relatives live near the blast-damaged commercial building.

Regarding the dead employees, he said, I went to the hospital and saw that one of the workers who died in the blast was working in his company for the last 43 years.

Incidentally, the three-storied building partially collapsed due to an explosion at 10:50 am on Sunday. Four units of the fire service brought the fire under control by around 11:30 am.

Regarding the cause of the explosion, Rahmat Ullah, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADC) of the Bomb Disposal Team of the Police Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC), said that the explosion occurred due to the accumulation of gas inside the sewage line of the building.
