Shoaib Akhtar rejected the offer of ‘Gangster’ movie!

Entertainment desk: Three popular faces of Bollywood started their acting career with the movie ‘Gangster’ released in 2005. Saini Ahuja, Emraan Hashmi, Kangana Ranaut. The movie also got a great response at the box office. This information is known to movie lovers. But the unknown information is that the former Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Akhtar was proposed to be the hero in that movie!

The film’s producer Mukesh Bhatt went to Pakistan to meet Shoaib Akhtar and listen to the script. But Shoaib did not accept the proposal even after meeting him!

In 2011, Shoaib’s autobiography ‘Controversially Yours’ was published. Shoaib wrote about the movie in that book. He wrote, “Mukesh Bhatt wanted to meet me. I heard it from Pakistani actress Meera. Then I was in a cricket camp in Karachi. Mukesh went there. He offered me a hero role in a gangster movie. But due to some reasons I could not accept that offer.”

Shoaib also wrote that he had offers to act in several Bollywood movies. But he did not accept them. However, on why he did not accept the offer of movies like ‘Gangster’, he wrote, “Actually I was focusing on cricket then. I did not want people to think that I am not focusing on cricket. Apart from that, the Pakistan Cricket Board would have banned me if I had acted in a movie.”

Shoaib also said that at that time many people close to him advised him not to act in Bollywood movies. Shoaib wanted to focus on cricket. So he turned down one after another acting offers. He said in his autobiography that the Pak pacer has no regrets.
