This canine was not happy with her seating assignment.

Sputnik, a Shiba Inu, had more than enough legroom during her Alaskan Airlines flight last week as she chewed her way through the metal gate of her kennel.

In a now-viral social media post, TikTok user John Krajewski shared a video of Sputnik standing at the opening of a plane’s cargo hold, smiling with her tongue out looking down at the baggage conveyor belt to the surprise of airport workers.

Sputnik escaped her cage by chewing through the zip-ties and the metal lock that held the gate of the crate closed, all while being under a full dose of sedatives.

Krajewski, founder and CEO of Strange Loop Games a software development firm, said he and Sputnik’s flight was a six-hour cross-country trip and no one knows how long the pooch was out of the kennel.

“The crew said they opened the door and she was just standing there like she’s waiting for the red carpet,” Krajewski wrote in the video.

Sputnik is fine following the ordeal while the clip has been viewed more than 3.2 million times.

“So glad she’s ok, and kinda impressed she managed the escape,” Krajewski said.

Alaska Airlines’ policies require pets to remain in a carrier during the flight, and only animals that fit in carriers small enough to fit underneath the seats may fly inside the cabin — larger animals are relegated to the underneath compartment.

In a follow-up post, Krajewski shared that “after surviving her flight,” Sputnik and her feline pal Willie were enjoying their new Miami home.

Many commenters on the video deemed Sputnik’s behavior as it being a part of her breed.

“That’s the most Shiba thing I’ve ever seen,” one TikTok user said.

Another told the story of how she’s gone through multiple kennels because of her dogs.

“As an Owner or two Shiba Inu’s it’s absolutely insane how they get out of their crates! We’ve been through three so far! Finally, the 4th one worked.”

“This very on-brand for a Shiba,” a third comment said.

“She was walking around the other kennels like ‘you wish that was you huh’”

“Her face was like ‘I swear Susan if you ever put me in that cage again the plane is next,’” another one stated.

While Sputnik seemed to have an enjoyable flight, a New Zealand couple certainly did not thanks to a recent encounter with a gassy, drooling pooch during a recent 13-hour flight.
