Pete Alonso hit his 21st homer of the season on Sunday and may have gotten some help from the umpires to get it.

The first baseman drilled a fly ball to left with one out in the bottom of the sixth off Blue Jays right-hander Nate Pearson during the Mets’ 6-4 loss to the Blue Jays at Citi Field on Sunday.

The ball appeared to hit off the top of the wall, marked in orange, and bounced back onto the field.

Toronto left fielder Whit Merrifield picked it up and threw to second, causing Alonso to dive headfirst into second, but as he did so, the umpires called it a home run and Alonso got up and circled the bases.

The Blue Jays challenged the call and the ball looked like the call might be reversed, but it stood and Alonso was credited with his homer.

It was also his 72nd career homer at Citi Field, breaking Lucas Duda’s mark for the ballpark.

Later in the inning, Starling Marte also homered to tie the game, but the Mets could not keep the game tied.
