The central government of Pakistan has decided to reduce the price of fuel oil in coordination with the international market to give relief to the public. A reduction of five rupees per liter of petrol has been announced for the next two weeks. The price of petrol in the country now stands at Rs 267 per litre. News from Jio News.

In a statement, Pakistan’s Finance Minister Ishaq Dar said that the price of diesel will remain at 280 rupees until the next adjustment.

The finance minister said that the price of light diesel has been reduced by 12 rupees to 184.68 rupees per liter. Moreover, the price of kerosene has been reduced by Rs 15 per liter to Rs 187.73.

This step taken by the government will be effective from March 1, which will last till the 15th of the same month.

The Pakistani authorities have taken this decision keeping in mind the public opinion as the price of fuel oil has dropped significantly in the international market. Although inflation has already skyrocketed there. The cost of living has increased. So even though the government has reduced the price of oil, it is still beyond the reach of the common man.

Moreover, the Pakistani rupee has strengthened slightly against the dollar in the past two weeks. It also reduced the cost of fuel import.
