The cause of a fatal fire in a Gold Coast high-rise apartment building Wednesday that left one Chicago firefighter dead was announced this morning, and the cause of death for another Chicago firefighter killed in the line of duty was also revealed following a West Pullman residential fire Tuesday.

The very first cellular telephone call took place 50 years ago this week. And this innovation was part of a technological evolution that was inspired by comic strip detective Dick Tracy’s wrist phone. Read more here.
