According to the plan, the per capita expenditure in the tourism sector in the country will increase to 1 thousand 500 dollars in the fiscal year 2023-25. Compared to 2019, which is a 25 percent increase. In the coming years, several international conferences like Expo 2025 will be held in Japan. Naturally, the country will become one of the main destinations for international air travel.

The draft plan was released at a special meeting on Thursday. It is informed that the approval will be given in the cabinet next March. Although the plan has expired for the financial year 2020, its review has been postponed due to the impact of the corona on the tourism sector.

Japan was the destination of 3 crore 18 lakh 80 thousand tourists in 2019. But due to Corona there was a major decline in the following year. 41 lakh 20 thousand tourists in 2020 and 2 lakh 50 thousand in 2021. But instead of just focusing on the numbers, the Japanese government wants to make strategic changes in the tourism sector.

Beyond the major cities, the possibility of traveling to other parts of the country makes it attractive for tourists. Prime Minister Fumio Kishida has announced that 5 trillion yen will be spent on the tourism sector.
