Islamabad police along with Punjab police went in front of Imran’s house in the morning. He was arrested by the police as he was continuously absent from the hearing of a case related to Toshakhana.

The 70-year-old former prime minister was shot dead in Wazirabad last year. Imran did not attend the three hearings in the Toshakhana case.

Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah said that there is a court order to arrest Imran.

Islamabad Police said in a tweet that an operation was conducted to arrest Imran with the help of Lahore Police.

Police also said the PTI chief had evaded arrest. An SP went to Imran’s room. But Imran was not there.

Legal action will be taken against those who obstruct the implementation of the court order. Islamabad Police will hand over Imran to Islamabad under their own security. Law is equal for all.

Islamabad Police IG Akbar Nasir Khan said that the police had delivered the court order to Imran. And he accepted it. Now we want him to go with us. I respectfully request him to come with us so that the court order is obeyed.

He said that Islamabad and Lahore police teams are waiting outside Imran’s house. They will not leave without arresting him.
