A judge today held a man without bail after he was accused of shooting and killing a girl who was riding a scooter in front of her home in Portage Park.

Michael Goodman, 43, is charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of Serabi Medina on Saturday night.

Emergency responders from multiple area fire and police departments were on the scene Aug. 4, 2023, at Arlington Lake in Arlington Heights where the body of a man was recovered from the water.

Emergency responders pulled the body of a 51-year-old man out of Lake Arlington earlier this month after a Park District worker discovered some “personal belongings” near the sailboat launch at Lake Arlington, and a land and water search was started. Read more here.
