Five people, including two children, were killed in a house fire in the United States. Five others were injured in this incident. A fire broke out in a house in New York’s Spring Valley in the early hours of Saturday (March 4) local time.

In a report on Sunday (March 5), the US media CBS News reported that a fire broke out in a residence at 118 Lake Street around 4 am local time. Rockland County Fire Service arrived at the scene after receiving the information.

Local fire service co-ordinator Christopher Kier said there were reports of several people trapped inside a house that was engulfed in flames. Although an attempt was made to enter the house at the initial stage, it was not possible to enter due to the dire situation.

Even though the fire was brought under control at 4:40 in the morning, the fire service and policemen failed to rescue the people trapped inside the house. Later, two and three bodies were brought out from the first floor of the building.’

According to local authorities, one member of the fire service was injured during the rescue operation. He was treated at the scene. On the other hand, the remaining five injured persons were taken to a local hospital.

Kear also said that when the fire spread, a person jumped from the second floor. Attempts are being made to find out the cause and source of the fire. Spring Valley Police Chief Rick Oleszczuk said the investigation is still in its early stages. But soon we hope to know the cause of the fire.
