4 million gallons of radioactive water have been released from an American nuclear reactor so far! The radioactive material released from the nuclear reactor in the state of Minnesota in the United States became a cause of concern for the local administration. According to Minnesota’s Pollution Control Board (MPCA), radioactive material such as tritium has been leached from the nuclear reactor into the water.

Last November, the US Nuclear Regulatory Agency conducted a study on the contamination of the nuclear reactor. Four months later, the report of that survey was made public. According to the report, every day radioactive water from the nuclear reactor in the Monticello region of Minnesota is falling into the local water body. However, hearing the figure of 4 lakh gallons, some of the country’s environmentalists are concerned.

However, according to the report, arrangements have been made to ensure that no more polluting substances are released from the nuclear reactor. There were fears that contaminated water had also entered the nearby Mississippi River. But experts involved in preparing the report said the contaminated water did not enter the Mississippi. Even testing of groundwater samples showed that the level of contamination did not rise above the danger level.
