Colts’ Kylen Granson does newborn photo shoot with first TD ball

According to Kylen Granson, he was far past his due date to get his first career touchdown in the NFL.

The third-year tight end for the Colts posted a parody newborn photo shoot to his Instagram using the ball he scored his first touchdown with this past Sunday.

The photo shoot included several different poses and angles of the football being swaddled by Granson in a flourishing outdoor setting.

His long-time girlfriend, Daisy Foko, was also featured in the shoot.

The football of a player’s first career touchdown is a typical keepsake.

However, it is usually placed on display in the player’s home.

The outrageous post even caught the attention of the Colts Instagram and a subsequent joint post with the NFL Instagram.

His first TD came on a 4-yard reception from backup quarterback Gardner Minshew, one of Granson’s three catches on the day.

Granson, who was mic’d up for the game, wasn’t even sure he’d scored until a video review confirmed he’s broken the plane of the end zone.

“If someone could find me the ball, that’d be cool,” he said in a video posted by the Colts. “I’m happy, I love you mom, I love you family. I know you’re expecting a more tearful reaction, but it was kinda robbed. It was robbed for me!”

Granson’s score helped the Colts earn a Week 2 win, 31-20, against the Texans.

This comes after his four catches for 39 yards in Week 1’s 31-21 loss to the Jaguars.

“I’m going all out for the second one, going all out,” Granson joked after the game. “I’m gonna friggin’ pop some champagne. I’m gonna hide it underneath the goalposts.”

The Colts picked up Granson in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft.

Granson caught 11 passes for 106 yards in 2021 and 302 yards on 31 catches in 13 games in the 2022 season.

Although a monumental moment for Granson, Sunday’s headlines were dominated by news about Anthony Richardson sustaining a concussion after scoring two touchdowns in the first quarter against the Texans.

The Colts (1-1) head to Baltimore on Sunday, looking to hand the Ravens their first loss of the season.
