Bangladesh-India friendship cultural festival held at Srimangal

Bangladesh-India friendship cultural festival was held in Srimangal last Thursday with the participation of India-Bangladesh artists. Srimangal Upazila Parishad Chairman Bhanu Lal Roy inaugurated the festival by lighting hundred lamps at Srimangal Mohsin Auditorium in the evening organized by Srimangal Upazila Press Club of Moulvibazar. In the festival, Janata Theater staged the stage play ‘Mayar Atmakahan’ written on the life struggle of heroine Maya Khatun. The author of the play is journalist and liberation war researcher Bikul Chakraborty. The play is directed by Kamrul Hasan Dulon, Shyamal Acharya and Bikul Chakraborty. The drama portrays the life of a woman who lost her dignity in the liberation war of Bangladesh in 1971 before and after independence. The whole play is a true story of the life struggle of Birangana Maya Khatun of Shadergaj village of Sindurkhan union of Srimangal upazila of Moulvibazar district. Maya Khatun currently resides in Mahajerabad area of ​​Srimangal Upazila in the Prime Minister’s shelter project. Bakul Chakraborty, Suman Vaidya, Chaitali Chakraborty, Jhumon Mia, Sukant Chakraborty, Adil Bux, Dev Dulal Chakraborty, Md. are acting in the play. Humayun Kabir, Varna Chakraborty, Naeem Ahmed, Tapan Tarpadar, Gopal Chandra Roy and Eamon Kalyan Dev Chowdhury and Maya Khatun.
