Attacks on nuclear facilities are totally illegal: Grossi

Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency or IAEA, who is visiting Tehran, said that a military attack on any nuclear facility is completely illegal.

Grossi made this comment while responding to the threat that America and Israel have been making to attack Iran’s nuclear facilities. Irna news.

He said this in a joint press conference with Mohammad Islami, head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Agency, in Tehran on Saturday.

At this time, Islami urged the IAEA to play a role in building Iran’s trust with the West.

The US government has recently become closer to Israel. Last month, the US ambassador to Tel Aviv, Tom Neids, said the path to “all measures” against Iran was open.

He also said that Israel also has the right to do ‘anything’ if necessary against Iran and we stand by Tel Aviv.

In this regard, the Director General of IAEA said that there are two completely different issues in this case. First, attacks on nuclear facilities have become commonplace due to the ongoing war in Ukraine.

Second, the IAEA has publicly condemned these attacks. So I think any kind of military attack on nuclear facilities is illegal and reprehensible.

Grossi’s visit to Tehran came after Western media reported that IAEA inspectors had found particles of uranium enriched to 84 percent at an Iranian nuclear facility. Tehran directly rejected the allegations.

The IAEA director general also said at the joint press conference that he had constructive discussions with Iranian officials and that this could pave the way for the restoration of the nuclear deal signed in 2015.
