Indian Railways is now preparing to present the most advanced train in India, Vande Bharat, in a sleeper version. Providing information on this today, the railway official said that the sleeper version of the Vande Bharat Express train, which has been a center of attraction among the passengers, will be designed to run at a speed of 220 km/h.

Shatabdi and Rajdhani trains will be an option

The Vande Bharat Express seat trains will be replaced by the Shatabdi Express in stages, while the sleeper variant will be an alternative to the Rajdhani Express trains, a railway official said. Railways has issued a tender for 400 Vande Bharat trains for this and the work will be approved by the end of this month. According to officials, some of these early trains could also be sleeper versions of homemade trains.

What are the future plans for the railway?

According to Railways, the first 200 Vande Bharat trains will have a Shatabdi Express-style seating arrangement and will be designed to travel at 180 km/h. But given the inadequate safety and security of the railroads, their speed will be limited to 130 km/h. Officials say that this train will be made of steel. In the second phase, the 200 Vande Bharat trains will be sleeper versions made of aluminum.

Tracks, signaling systems and bridges are being repaired and railings are being installed on the Delhi-Mumbai, Delhi-Kolkata railway for the Vande Bharat sleeper train running at a speed of 200 km/h. According to officials, in the next two years, ICF in Chennai in Tamil Nadu, Latur Rail Factory in Maharashtra and Sonepat in Haryana will manufacture 400 trains.
